If you are worried about being without your trusted knives during sharpening, I have sharp and clean loaner knives available at no cost!
Professional edge re-engineering; refining your blades to the task. See the Sharpening Tools page for details of the specific methods and equipment I use.
A dull knife is a dangerous knife; the extra force required to slice means more slips and accidental cuts. The act of cutting should be smooth with minimal force. If your knives drag through food and downward force is necessary, it's time for an edge tune-up! A happy knife is a happy life!
Knives are $2.50 per blade inch, minimum of $6.00 per piece.
Pocket knives and multi-tools are notoriously difficult to sharpen because of changing edge angles to the tip, blade lengths, thumb screws, and tight spaces. I use specialty equipment (EdgePro Apex 4) and an extensive collection of specialty stones to work in small spaces and tune your Every-Day Carry (EDC) pocket and hunting knives. Think Rambo, without the mullet.
Scissors use four cutting surfaces to slice materials...the most important being the inner edge (ride line). You should not feel binding or resistance as you cut; if you do give me a shout-out, scissor-bro/-sis!
I can sharpen most scissors and shears for $15.00, specialty hair shears are $25. I'll confirm your specific needs.
Most axes and hatchets have a grind angle of 30 degrees...anything sharper will be ruined on the first swing. I combine multiple tools to restore (or improve) the factory edge; 1x30 belt sander, grinding wheels, files, and stones. You'll be a regular Paul Bunion. $2 per inch, per edge.
I sharpen chainsaw blades for $1.00 per inch of bar length. Please remove your blades before sharpening ($5 removal fee). I use a specialty chainsaw blade grinder system that holds a precise angle for each chain link to assure a straight, non-binding cut. I can remove the chain from the bar for an additional $5. Now you'll WANT to help your neighbor trim trees...
I restore the precision of professional and home-use clippers. My services includes disassembly, cleaning, sharpening, de-magnetizing, lubrication, adjustment for $10-15 dollars (depending on blade width and condition). Clipping = caring.
